I have been working with the Choice Program for three years and have become familiar with their requirements and policies. Once TriWest sees the consult, they call the veteran and ask for their preferences. After obtaining the preferences, they send it to the scheduling team. It can take five days for the consult to be assigned to someone for preparation. Then, it takes an additional five to seven days for the scheduling team to make an appointment. In my case, even after the appointment was scheduled, it was still a month and a half away from the actual appointment.
